Fun hiking with kids

This time I brought Mr. Victor Rodrigo and family. He is  a travel journalist from spain and founder of www.mochilerosdospuntocero.com who has been traveling around the world.  He’s always traveling with his wife and two kids.

After meet them at surabaya airport  we proceed to bromo area where we will stay in cemara lawang village. This family  is very kind and friendly 🙂 especially their two small kids are always excited and fun in this trip.

The second day, we woke up at 3.30 am, then headed to the view point by driving jeef. This family are very exited to watch sunrise in kingkong hill view point.  The sun slightly obstructed by clouds, but we can still enjoy panorama bromo mountain surrounding. Next, we headed to the sea of sand and climbed mount bromo to see the crater. Two kids of mr. Victor Rodrigo,  they are so happy and fun to climb mount bromo.

After berakfast, we check out from bromo permai hotel and then we headed to bondowoso city where we’ll stay in ijen view hotel.

We need around 4 hours drive to reach ijen view hotel, one thing that makes us to choose this hotel for this familiy bacause this hotel has complete facilities and big swiming pool.  After check in hotel,  this family have time for relax, play and swim in the pool together

On day Three, we wake up at 4 am, check out hotel and headed to mount ijen gate, its about 2 hours drive.  At parking area, my friend ( local guide ) named Kivly was waiting us. And then he will accompany Mr.Rodrigo and family to climb mount ijen. Its about 3 km /  tt takes about 1.5 hours walk to the top of mount ijen, and from the top we can see ijen crater.   Ijen crater shows a special type of volcanic feature common to Indonesia, about 1 km  diameter and 175 meters deep. The floor is covered completely by a warm lake, milky blue green in color, held back by a dam built many years ago by the Dutch, in order to keep the hot mineral, laden water from raining for the crop lands below.

After climb mount ijen, we drive down to ketapang port where we catch the ferryboat across to bali island.  When we arrived at  Ketapang port, my friend (travelife crew in Bali) was waiting for us and I introduced my friend to mr. Victor Rodrigo and his family.  At this moment I say “adiós” to Mr. Victor Rodrigo and his family. And they’re a cross to Bali island by ferry boat and continue their journey to Ubud.

For me this is an enjoyable experience. and this is my first time hike with the kids. they are a happy family and every time is always fun wherever they are.
